“Our group of 14 had the most amazing experience staying here! Most of us had never been to Costa Rica and we fell in love with Playa Avellanas. Every day was full of adventure, great food and perfect rest. Karla and Alberto attended to all of our needs and made our time in Costa Rica so special and a fantastic vacation. More importantly they became our friends/family! We absolutely adore them. Karlas authentic Costa Rican cooking is delicious. Our kids from 6 to 14 years absolutely loved it! ( even the picky eaters). Johnny’s Beach Bungalow was the perfect set up for a group this size. Everyone had their own space but enjoyed the appointed areas for gathering such as outdoor dining table, yoga platform with hammocks and kitchen area. Playa Avellanas is a lovely area with friendly locals that are contagiously happy. Several restaurants including Lolas, Gregorios, La Esquina de Avellanas, etc. are all within walking distance with atmosphere, views, and wonderful food/drinks! Coming back soon.”

“GEM! LOVED staying here! IT’S A MUST stay location! Stayed in Airbnb’s around the world, this was, by far one of my best finds. I’ll start with the description & photos on this place. Everything is exactly as stated!!! The host was extremely responsive but what stood out the most was the manager on site. Alberto & his wife, Karla, were absolutely the cutest people. We were 2 families sharing a home (12 people total), Karla made our kids anything they wanted & always had hot water in a teapot ready for us (we’re serious coffee drinkers). She tended to our kids as if they were her own. Alberto is truly the sweetest man. Anything we needed, he was there. Since we are in the jungle & being from the states we don’t usually get bugs too often. Alberto fumigated daily outside our rooms (not harmful to humans) to keep away tiny insects. His wife Karla changed our sheets daily to make sure there weren’t any bugs 😅😅. Alberto & his wife are the gems of this property, everything else was a bonus. LOVED IT!!”
