Johnny's Beach Bungalow is a 6-bedroom private beach resort at the south end of Playa Avellanas, in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It sleeps up to 28, and you rent the whole thing: the pool, the covered dining pavilion, the yoga platform and all 6 ensuite bedrooms.
The beach is a 3-minute walk. Lola's is 7. Hacienda Pinilla — an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis and pickleball courts — is about 10 minutes north, and Tamarindo is 30. Liberia airport is an hour and a half away, and we will come and collect you.

What Guanacaste Is Actually Like in the Rainy Season
Ask about Costa Rica in the rainy months and most people picture a washout. Guanacaste is the driest province in the country, and from May through November it is the version of this coast most visitors never see — the dry brown hills behind Playa Avellanas turn green, the mangrove fills, and the howler monkeys get loud at first light.
Mornings are usually clear. The rain, when it comes, arrives as a warm afternoon shower that cools everything off and is gone before dinner. The swell is bigger, which is why surf camps book these months. Olive ridley turtles nest on our sand from July through December. And September and October are the quietest weeks of our year, which makes them the cheapest — the same six bedrooms, the same breakfast, for noticeably less.
